Top News and Magazines Apps on Android in Mexico: Q2 2025 Performance

In the second quarter of 2025, the top news and magazine applications on the Android platform in Mexico exhibited diverse performance trends. This analysis, based on Sensor Tower data, highlights key metrics for each app, including downloads, revenue, and active users.

X (Formerly Twitter) showed a fluctuating pattern in its weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $7.4K in mid-April and ending the quarter around $6.8K. The app's downloads saw a notable spike in mid-May, reaching 105.8K, while its active user base hovered around 13M, with some weekly variations.

Noticias Locales experienced a gradual increase in downloads towards the end of the quarter, reaching 33.7K in the final week of June. Revenue remained relatively stable, peaking at $55. Weekly active users increased steadily, closing the quarter at approximately 831K.

Another variant of Noticias Locales saw its downloads fluctuate, with a high of 55.6K in late April. However, revenue data was not applicable for this version.

Quick News had a decreasing trend in downloads, starting strong with over 60K downloads in early April but declining to under 1K by mid-June. Revenue saw minor fluctuations, peaking at $41 in early June, while active users maintained a steady presence, ending the quarter at around 70K.

Alerta Sísmica México - SASSLA experienced a substantial spike in downloads in late April, reaching over 60K. Revenue saw a significant peak of $3.1K at the end of March, with active users showing a dramatic increase mid-quarter, peaking at 1.44M in late April.
